Creating a standout logo for a stand out brand.
We partnered with Science Technology Australia to create a logo and brand for their Science Meets the Economy program.
The Science Meets the Economy program will be a 3-day in-person intensive for cohorts of approximately 30 leaders. The program will cover the fundamentals of business-focussed governance, economics and regulation.
The Science Meets the Economy brand mark was designed to represent the program’s central role as a bridge between industry and academia. It visually communicates the program’s purpose of fostering meaningful connections, enabling collaboration, and driving the exchange of knowledge between these two critical sectors.
At the core of the design is a stylised puzzle motif, inspired by the existing Science and Technology Australia visual identity. This element reflects the idea of different pieces, representing disciplines, sectors, and perspectives coming together to form a cohesive whole. Complementing this is an arrow element, which conveys a sense of forward movement, progress, and momentum. Together, these elements symbolise growth, collaboration, and the successful translation of ideas, research, and innovation into real-world impact.
The brand mark has been intentionally created with a continued emphasis on a stylised and abstract visual language. This approach ensures alignment with the broader Science & Technology Australia brand while also allowing the Science Meets the Economy identity to stand confidently on its own.
The triangle particles, extracted from the outer edges of the STA brandmark, symbolise the program’s connection to STA and translate to that is pieces that bring together Science and Economy.
These triangle particles are formulated in the abstract shape of Australia, signifying the national reach of the program and growth of science and technology in the economy. These abstract triangles can represent stylised delta symbol (Change) in supply or demand.
The angle-bracket or arrow-forward symbol represents direction, progress and forward movement towards joining science and the economy.
