Creating designs that are made with meaning is what we are all about.

We were honored to be commissioned by the Queensland Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Council to design a logo for a new community-controlled organisation aimed at improving health outcomes across Cape York and the Torres Strait.
The Cape and Torres Health Commissioning (CaTHC) brandmark embodies the organisation’s mission to enhance the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities across the region.
The logo incorporates visual elements and colors that resonate with the region, reflecting the core values and goals of CaTHC. With its simple yet meaningful design, the brandmark highlights the organisation’s commitment to working closely with local communities, amplifying their voices, and supporting their aspirations for improved health outcomes. This is achieved through customised health commissioning tailored to the unique needs of communities, families, and individuals across Cape York and the Torres Strait.

A central feature of the design is a stylised shape representing the heads of mangrove seeds, symbolising how CaTHC fosters growth and empowers communities to make their own health decisions.
A waterway is depicted at the center of the logo to symbolise a river of life, illustrating how Cape and Torres Health Commissioning facilitates the delivery of health services to communities throughout Cape York and the Torres Strait.
The orange center of the design represents a half bora ring, a space where families and communities can discuss health-related matters in a safe and supportive environment through the work of CaTHC.
The primary shape of the CaTHC logomark, a half-circle, has dual significance. It symbolises a meeting place, representing CaTHC’s dedication to improving the health of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and communities. This shape reflects the organisation’s approach to safeguarding health delivery, emphasising the importance of consultation and collaboration with communities across the region.
Additionally, the half-circle shape also signifies the Torres Strait, with a stylised Dhari incorporated to represent the region’s cultural heritage.
