Bringing an artwork to life.
We recently partnered with Private Energy Partners to bring their Reconciliation Action Plan to life through thoughtful design, engaging layouts and a strong visual connection to their reconciliation journey.
When Private Energy Partners approached us to develop the design and layout of their Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), we saw an opportunity to create more than a document—we wanted to help bring their commitment to reconciliation to life through a strong, contemporary and engaging visual story.
A key part of the project was working with the artwork of Gavin Kum Sing, a proud Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander man whose life and work are grounded in the belief that Culture is Life. Of Juru, Wulgurukaba and Bindal heritage, with ancestral connections to the Torres Strait, the Solomon Islands and across North Queensland, Gavin brings more than 26 years’ experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
We carefully vectorised Gavin’s artwork, allowing its visual elements to be integrated throughout the RAP while maintaining the integrity and character of the original work. This created a strong visual connection between the content, culture and story of the RAP.
Working closely with Private Energy Partners, we brought together Gavin’s artwork, considered typography, strong graphic elements and accessible layouts to create a contemporary RAP that is engaging, purposeful and reflective of their commitment to reconciliation.
Private Energy Partners is a business that plays a crucial role in preserving Australia’s cultural heritage. Their work ensures that future generations can access and appreciate the cultural and historical artifacts that define our collective history. Recognising the significance of their mission, particularly in the context of Reconciliation, we aimed to create a RAP that would reflect their values and goals.
Working with Private Energy Partners on their RAP was a rewarding experience and an opportunity to support an organisation committed to advancing reconciliation and building meaningful relationships with First Nations peoples and communities. It was a privilege to contribute to a project grounded in respect, inclusion and a genuine commitment to recognising and celebrating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures.
The final Reconciliation Action Plan for Private Energy Partners is a considered and engaging document that reflects their commitment to reconciliation and their ongoing efforts to build meaningful relationships, support Indigenous communities and recognise and celebrate First Nations cultures.
